· 100% Alpaca fiber

natural alpaca fiber using unique patterns, and has beautiful hand knotted fringes.
This special throw is handmade by women from the
Mapuche commnunity in Panguipulli, south of
Chile. These alpacas are raised in the
Huincul Farm in the same region of Chile.
Let us tell you a little about the delicate process behind these throws...
Since its origins, centuries ago, this tradition has been dominated by women.
First, exquisite alpaca fiber is handspun with a kuilo. Then, using a witral or vertical loom, they hand weave these beautiful textiles.
Since the artisans use only alpaca fiber in its natural color for these textiles and due to the difficult and time-consuming hand process described above, these throws are
unique pieces of art.
How can we describe alpaca fiber? Soft, flexible, and resilient, are some of the words that come in mind after feeling the texture in your hands. Alpaca wool is a rare and extremely fine fiber. It is also
hypoallergenic because of the absence of lanolin in the fleece.
All these qualities will be protected and enhanced because only natural color alpaca fiber is used for these throws (that means no dyes, whatsoever!).
So bring home a throw today and give it a cozy touch using them as an accent piece over a sofa or a bed. The beauty of the colors and unique combinations will thrill you.
Sit by the fireplace, wrap yourself up in your throw and travel back in time with the artisan... Enjoy!
